About GRD
GRD (Getting Recruitments Done), developed by ABACUS Consultants, is a SaaS recruitment
execution platform helping organisations plan daily work, manage tasks and follow-ups, conduct
weekly reviews, monitor hiring workflows and improve outcomes. We need a developer who
understands WHY a workflow exists, not only HOW to code it.
What you will do
Maintain and enhance existing C# / ASP.NET MVC (.NET Framework) backend modules and
REST/Web APIs.
Write and optimise MySQL queries, stored procedures and data-access logic (ADO.NET /
Entity Framework / LINQ as relevant).
Own end-to-end development of GRD modules such as Stuff / Task Management, Daily
Planning and Control, Weekly Review, Prepare Tomorrow, follow-up and next-action queues,
hiring dashboards and the 30-Day Guided Improvement Pilot.
Translate business requirements into clear workflows, decision rules, statuses, owners, due
dates, data models, API endpoints and practical user-facing functionality; question gaps in
requirements and propose simpler solutions.
Support frontend integration using JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, HTML and Bootstrap 5.
Use approved AI coding tools to speed up code comprehension, implementation, debugging,
tests and documentation.
Write tests, review AI-generated suggestions, use Git and document changes; coordinate
with the existing development team.
Build daily and weekly reviews that turn work activity into clear next actions, decisions,
ownership and deadlines.
Translate a functional discussion or simple UI sketch into a reliable database design,
backend rules, APIs and tested working feature.
Ask practical questions, identify missing scenarios, document assumptions and recommend
simple scalable approaches.
Understand task capture, prioritisation, assignment, follow-up, completion and carry-forward
without losing action history.
Must-have skills
Strong working experience in C#, ASP.NET MVC and Web API / REST APIs.
Hands-on MySQL or SQL Server skills, including troubleshooting and query optimisation.
Strong logical and analytical ability: independently understand process flows, define edge
cases, map screen actions to business rules, and work productively in an existing codebase.
Practical use of AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT or Claude) with
sound judgement and code verification.
Working knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, HTML, Bootstrap and Git.
Good communication, ownership, testing discipline and debugging ability.
Good to have
Experience with SaaS products, multi-user applications, authentication/authorisation, API
security, performance optimisation, CI/CD and technical documentation.
Contract and selection
This is initially a 3-month, full-time contractual assignment, not a guaranteed permanent position.
Permanent employment may be considered after evaluation of technical quality, delivery
reliability, initiative and team fit. Candidates should be available to join immediately or within 15
days.
Selection: a short technical discussion followed by a paid practical assignment to design a simple
task-to-weekly-review workflow (owner, status, next action, due date, carry-forward), implement a
small MVC/Web API + MySQL feature, and explain how AI-assisted code was verified.
