We are looking for a Legal Manager – Debt Management for a leading bank to manage legal recovery, litigation, and debt collection matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle legal recovery and litigation matters related to loan defaults and overdue accounts.
Manage proceedings under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and Section 25 of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act.
Handle recovery proceedings under the SARFAESI Act and arbitration processes.
Draft and review legal notices, petitions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
Coordinate with external advocates, collection teams, and internal stakeholders for effective recovery.
Monitor ongoing legal cases and ensure timely follow-ups and compliance with applicable legal procedures.
Support the Debt Management team in strengthening legal recovery and resolution of delinquent accounts.
Eligibility Criteria:
Qualification: LL.B. (3-year or 5-year course) from a recognized university.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Legal Collections/Recovery with a Bank or NBFC.
Strong knowledge of SARFAESI, Section 138 of the NI Act, Section 25 of the PSS Act, arbitration, and litigation procedures.
Excellent legal drafting, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Strong stakeholder management and coordination abilities.
Preferred Candidate: Candidates with hands-on experience in banking/NBFC legal recovery and debt management.
