PURPOSE OF JOB
We require a talented and proactive Linux L1/L2 Administrator to ensure the smooth operation, availability, and security of Linux-based systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incidents, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) for server issues, and collaborating with IT teams to maintain the performance and reliability of our 24x7 infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• 24x7 Server Monitoring: Proactively monitor server environments for alerts via monitoring tools and emails.
• Incident Management: Handle escalations and follow up with IT system admins and application teams on pending high-priority tickets.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct detailed RCA for major incidents related to Linux servers, identifying the cause and implementing solutions.
• Server Maintenance & Upgrades: Collaborate with project/application teams on new server builds, OS upgrades, and migrations.
• Performance Tuning: Fine-tune server performance and implement OS hardening practices to ensure optimal functionality.
• Automation & Scripting: Automate processes and reduce manual efforts using scripts and tools.
• Patch Management & Vulnerability Management: Apply patches and close vulnerabilities to maintain system integrity and security.
• Incident Tracking & Documentation: Maintain incident logs and track resolutions through ticketing systems.
• Web Server Management: Manage and troubleshoot web servers like Apache, Nginx, and Tomcat.
• Firmware & OS Crash Analysis: Analyze and resolve server crashes and perform firmware upgrades when necessary.
QUALIFICATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
• Work Location: Airoli, Navi Mumbai
• Qualification: Any academic degree or diploma
• Experience: 4–5 years of strong experience in Linux administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat, SUSE).
• Proficient in troubleshooting OS booting and other related issues.
• Experience with incident tracking through logs and ticketing tools.
• Skills in Shell scripting for automation and reducing manual efforts.
• Knowledge of web servers (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, etc.).
• Familiarity with tools like Nagios, Cacti, and MySQL is a plus.
