About the Role
CapGrid is hiring a Category Manager – Machining & Forging to manage supplier development, strategic sourcing, and category procurement for machining and forging components. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in the Automotive Manufacturing industry with expertise in vendor management, cost optimization, and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Machining & Forging category, including sourcing and supplier development.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the supply base.
- Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and supplier negotiations.
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely procurement and supplier performance.
- Analyze market trends and develop category sourcing strategies.
- Ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and compliance requirements.
- Build long-term supplier relationships and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Procurement.
- Mandatory: Experience in the Automotive Manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of Machining and Forging components.
- Expertise in supplier development, vendor negotiations, and cost optimization.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Background
Candidates should be from reputed Automotive Manufacturing companies with experience in sourcing or procurement of machining and forging components.
